PRACTICE TIP OF THE MONTH:

Make a regular routine  -  Its amazing how quickly something will become part of your life when you make it a daily occurrence!. This is a MUST, not a SHOULD! The best times if you can manage it are first thing in the morning. Get
up ten minutes earlier, and get the music practice done in the routine of getting dressed and having breakfast.
Alternatively, you can do it straight after school before the homework or after whichever works best.  Every child and family situation is different, so find a routine that works and stick to it.  You will see great improvement when there is consistent practicing.  Be sure to monitor the practicing in some way.  Time may be spent, but nothing is being accomplished.  Be sure they are practicing the assigned music and are really practicing rather than just playing.

NOTE:
Welcome to our new students, Bekah and Karis!  We hope you enjoy becoming better pianists.
We enjoyed the Summer Songs master class and learned some new things.  I’ll be emailing the Orange Julius recipe to everyone soon.  Halloween Master Class is the 27th, a Thursday.  This one is such fun with costumes and a pot luck supper before everyone plays.  We’ll also have our drawing for prizes for everyone.  Everyone should have their Halloween music  by now.  Enjoy.  I hope to have a performance opportunity for the Halloween pieces just before Halloween.  The pieces are just too fun to play to just use them once.  I’ll keep you posted on this.

Be thinking ahead to Halloween and Christmas.  If you have any special requests for the Christmas recital, let me know right away – first come, first served.

I try to get statements out the last week of the month for the upcoming month, but regardless of when the statement comes out, I’d really like the lessons paid by the 2nd week of each month.  It makes my bookkeeping easier when I don’t have to worry about who has paid at the end of the month.  Of course, if there is a difficulty, please let me know so we can work something out.  I wouldn’t want anyone to stop lessons unnecessarily.  Charter School students – be sure I have the vouchers for the next few months at least.  I am also now a vendor for music.  So, if you want to, the school will pay for the music.  They are considered expendables, so you get to keep them.

Be sure to check the website for the calendar or other information periodically.  I try to let you know at the lessons, but sometimes I forget.  I also send out group emails regularly about the lessons and events coming up.

The Music Learning Community Website (musiclearningcommunity.com) is available now for $1.00 per family per month.  Remember that there is 15 minutes on the computer at the end of each lesson, so be sure to plan on the extra time (45 minutes total now).  Any questions, please let me know.  There is no change in price.

Music School Website url is:  http://snowmusicschool.com.  Students may earn extra points when they play any of the games or visit the website to learn more about music.
